Furnace Project: At the quarterly meeting it was decided that it’s time to replace the furnace. The cost will be at least $16,000 and probably more.  It depends if we have to replace the pipe.  There will be a special offering to help pay for this.  Please give your gift in your building fund envelope and designate it for the furnace.  Please make the gift over and above you regular offering so the general fund doesn’t fall farther behind.  Every gift we give is a gift of thanks for what Jesus has done for us.  You can’t out give God.

Funeral: Harold Holst was called to his eternal home on Tuesday morning.  The funeral service was held here at church on Friday afternoon. “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

Church Picnic will be held Sunday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m.  If we have nice weather, it will be held at the parsonage.  The parsonage is located on N143 County Road N (Tratt Street). If not, it will be held at the church.  Sandwiches and drinks will be provided.  Bring a dish to pass for the potluck, and bring a friend for the fellowship.

The Alpha Life Resource Center will be holding its annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 22 at St. Mark’s Lutheran School Commons, 706 Jones Street, Watertown, serving from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hot turkey, BBQ pork, homemade wieners & hot dogs, potato salads, baked beans, homemade desserts, banana splits & sundaes made with Mullen’s ice cream are just some of the items available. Take outs available! There will be silent auction items to bid on if you wish.
