WELS Mercy Ministry Network of in Jefferson County: As a congregation we are called to save people’s souls with the Gospel, but at other times we are asked to meet the mercy needs of our members. Beyond this there is an opportunity to meet those mercy needs in our communities as well. Yet, how well equipped are we to provide those mercy needs? To be sure, there are agencies providing mercy services ranging from pregnancy to marriage to substance abuse and many more. How familiar are we with these resources? What types of mercy needs are there in our congregation? In our community? How can we better meet those needs? What entities currently exist and what more do we need? If you are interested in learning more about how we as WELS congregations can improve and expand our ability to meet these mercy needs please plan to attend an informational session on Sunday September 29. Information will be shared about creating a WELS Mercy Network. The session will provide information on some of the agencies providing services and on how we can better equip our congregations to meet these needs. We will be seeking volunteers to work on a task force to fully develop and implement a WELS Mercy Network for our area. The session will be held on Sunday, September 29 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at the Lake Mills Community Center located at 200 Water St. in Lake Mills, WI. (Water St. is just off of S.
